Online Gambling Education
Gambling is thought of as a risky form of adult recreation with the following misconceptions:
1. It is evil when players lose.
2. It is unfair and must be government regulated.
3. As long as it is offered online, it is easily accessed by the underaged and must be stopped or heavily regulated.
4. It brings in too much money for an activity that is not in good standing with society. Thus, this gives the gambling industry power that the people don't want to give out because of the reality that money is power.
How can we eliminate these misconceptions? To do so, we must educate the public on the following opinionated facts of gambling:
1. Gambling is not really a priority when looking for an evil to shun. It is just popular and features a good amount of money. Are not Governments who kill citizens in other counties and on their own soil more evil than casinos? Why isn't there a prohibition on war? Also, gambling is a form of adult recreation. In God's eyes, cheating on your spouse is worse than gambling.
2. Gambling could be unfair at certain casinos, but this doesn't mean that a few bad apples calls for prohibition. Is not there a few bad apples in the computer industry? How about a few in the US Congress? Online Gaming Fairness will be offered by all successful casinos because this is the law of the land. Once a casino has the spirit of taking too much, then they will punished by God and the spirit of people who practice goodness. This is just a fact of life in business.
3. It is too adult for the young, but the best thing to do is to make sure our children are strong enough to say no to betting. Given rules to follow, online casinos would prevent children from gambling to avoid a licensing penalty.
4. Gambling does bring in a good amount of money to casinos, but who's to say that the owners of casinos are not Christians who worship Jesus and are commited to integrity? Instead of sending online casinos to the black market, wouldn't it be more honorable to make the casino owners conform to a set of rules based on integrity? I bet if regulation does happen, the US government will find that casino operators are already in the habit of good business relations through openness and honesty. What could offer more character building than operating a business, like an online casino, that half the people of the world dislike? Doesn't everyone want to be liked? Do you think casino operators deserve a break? Why not support them and help to regulate this industry?
The bottom line in gambling is the strength of the gambler. Does he have enough to know when to stop placing bets? Everyone should already know that when you place your first bet you have a 48% to 49% chance of winning. Odds after the first bet slowly reduce your chance of cashing out ahead. There is no such thing as a winning roulette system or an online blackjack card counting system that works. The odds are set by the casino software and that's that.
Gambling Can Be Addictive: The less one gambles, the better. Addicts who play with real money for a long period of time really don't stand a chance of winning. If you know of someone with a gambling problem, could you do everyone a favor and help them to find other interesting forms of recreation?
